El sector agrícola, y concretamente el sector de la mejora vegetal, celebra la adopción por el Consejo del acuerdo en trílogo sobre edición genética y pide al Parlamento Europeo que apruebe esta tecnología vital para la agricultura europea.Anove (Asociación Nacional de Obtentores Vegetales) y Euroseeds (Asociación Europea de Semillas) valoran positivamente la adopción formal de la posición en primera lectura de los estados miembros sobre el nuevo Reglamento relativo a las Nuevas Técnicas Genómicas (NGT), confirmando el texto de compromiso en trílogo acordado con el Parlamento Europeo en diciembre del año pasado.

La Asociación Nacional de Obtentores Vegetales (ANOVE) organizó hoy una jornada, en la que se empezó explicando que el sistema europeo es el sistema básico de propiedad intelectual aplicado al sector, fue un hito cuando se creó en 1994 con la actualización del convenio de la UPOV es un sistema común para la UE. Es un Sistema muy bien valorado, modelo a nivel mundial pero ha cumplido 30 años en donde han ocurrido muchos cambios a nivel de negocio y tecnológico. En estos 30 años ha concedido cerca de 70 mil títulos de protección, 30 mil en vigor actualmente.
