Above and beyond the particular interests of each sector or group, the stated objectives of the Association, through its specific committees and coordinated by the new technologies group, include: Acting as the representative of the sector involved in the research and breeding of new plant varieties before the public administration in relation to R+D+i policies. Collaborating with public research centres and universities. Protecting the intellectual and industrial property rights of plant breeders. Supporting the plant breeding sector in aspects related to phytosanitary treatments and the processing of seeds and plants. Setting up a forum for analysis, study, evaluation and action by plant breeders in relation to the legislation and regulations affecting the sector and new plant varieties. Representing and coordinating the plant breeding sector in Spain before national and international associations and organisations, particularly with regard to technological aspects. Disseminating and defending the value of plant breeding and new agricultural technologies.
